Corporate Governance
Dalworth Technologies Conflict Minerals Sourcing Policy
Background. In 2010, Congress enacted the conflict minerals provisions of the Dodd-Frank
Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (the “Dodd-Frank Act”) to address the
exploitation and trade of certain minerals which contribute to violence and human rights
abuses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (the “DRC”) and its neighboring countries.
In 2012, the SEC adopted rules implementing the conflict minerals provisions of the Dodd-
Frank Act (the “Conflict Minerals Rules”). The Conflict Minerals Rules require public
companies to disclose annually whether the products they manufacture or contract to
manufacture for which Conflict Minerals are necessary to the functionality or production of
those products contain Conflict Minerals that originated in any “Covered Countries,” and, if
so, provide information about the source and chain of custody of those Conflict Minerals.
The “Conflict Minerals” for the purposes of the Conflict Minerals Rules are gold, columbite-
tantalite (coltan), cassiterite, and wolframite (including their derivatives, tantalum, tin and

Design for Manufacturing.
DFM is not just a technical requirement, it’s a strategic advantage. The design planning
stage is the most opportune time in the development process to consider how the end
user wants the product to function. A better understanding of how it will be used allows for
a more robust design, provides an advantage to realize higher quality parts and ensures
efficiency.
Technical principles of design for manufacturability?
1. Early supplier and customer involvement »
Early customer involvement is crucial to ensuring a flawless part. The Design for
Manufacturing (DFM) process begins with cross-functional collaboration, both internally
and with the customer. From day one, our engineering, tooling, quality, purchasing, and
plant personnel are actively engaged. The customer’s insights into how the end user will
utilize the product are invaluable in determining the essential features that contribute to
its functionality. Additionally, the customer provides context about the environment in
which the final part will operate, helping us anticipate any variables that may affect its
performance. This important conversation ensures:
• Holistic design reviews: All disciplines contribute, identifying risks and opportunities
across the product lifecycle.
• Supplier expertise: Material vendors and component suppliers are consulted early,
leveraging their technical knowledge for optimal selection and manufacturability.
2. Advanced material selection »
Material selection is a crucial first step in the plastic part design process, as it directly
influences part performance, manufacturability, and overall cost efficiency. The selection
begins with a thorough understanding of how the part will function in real-world conditions.
This involves evaluating mechanical properties such as tensile strength, impact resistance,
and flexibility to ensure the part can endure its intended load and stress. Chemical
resistance is essential for applications exposed to oils, solvents, or harsh cleaning agents,
while environmental durability—such as UV stability for outdoor use or resistance to
extreme temperatures—ensures long-term reliability of the final product.
3. Sustainability engineering »
Integrating sustainable engineering into every stage of the Design for Manufacturing

(DFM) process is increasingly becoming a priority for injection molding manufacturers.
Designs are carefully optimized to minimize resin usage without compromising
performance, ensuring material efficiency from the outset. Additionally, lifecycle analyses
assess recyclability, end-of-life options, and overall environmental impact, supporting
customers in achieving their sustainability goals. For high-volume applications, hot runner
systems are often employed to reduce waste and enhance efficiency, reinforcing our
commitment to both cost-effectiveness and environmental responsibility.

Injection Molding How it works
Using Decoupled II Molding and Scientific Molding.
Understanding Scientific Plastic Injection Molding
Injection molding is a widely used manufacturing process for producing plastic parts and
components. It involves melting plastic material, injecting it into a mold cavity, and
allowing it to cool and solidify to form the desired shape.
While traditional injection molding relies on experience and intuition, scientific injection
molding takes a data-driven, systematic approach to optimize the process.
Principles of Scientific Injection Molding
Material Science
Page

The foundation of scientific injection molding begins with a deep understanding of the
plastic material being used. This includes knowledge of its melt flow properties, thermal
behavior, shrinkage rates, and other material-specific characteristics. Material selection is
crucial to achieving desired part properties.
Process Control
Scientific injection molding relies on precise control of various process parameters,
including temperature, pressure, injection speed, and cooling time. Process monitoring and
data analysis are essential for achieving tight tolerances and minimizing variations in part
dimensions.
Color Matching Products:
Color matching for plastic can be slightly more complicated, which is where a good
manufacturer can shine if they have established the right material for your product. The
same pigment cannot be used for plastic and silicone, and the same pigment cannot be
used across all different plastics (which is where the complexity lies).

manufacturer should understand. About every color you know is a numerical code
associated with a pantone shade. Pantone has all their colors online and they also sell
their color guides and chips meaning you can browse their catalog to find the right color.
• Physical Match- Any physical items you find lying around can be matched to a specific
pigment and color. Be it a crayon, and paint swatch, or a plastic toy; you name it and most
manufacturers can have it color matched. All a silicone or plastic manufacturer needs is
the physical item to match the color. You can send this item directly to your manufacturer
or send it directly to your manufacturer’s local Pigment Supplier.
• Choosing a Color for FDA Compliance- FDA compliance isn’t just about the base resin you
use – the pigments in the product need to be safe for contact with food and safe for
applications such as baby toys. At Extreme Molding we have a wealth of experience with
child-friendly, food safe and medical products that mean we can produce FDA compliant
products that don’t compromise on color or safety and are also BPA free.

Page
10
 of
20
Network Solutions Professional Services
(DFM) process is increasingly becoming a priority for injection molding manufacturers.
Designs are carefully optimized to minimize resin usage without compromising
performance, ensuring material efficiency from the outset. Additionally, lifecycle analyses
assess recyclability, end-of-life options, and overall environmental impact, supporting
customers in achieving their sustainability goals. For high-volume applications, hot runner
systems are often employed to reduce waste and enhance efficiency, reinforcing our
commitment to both cost-effectiveness and environmental responsibility.

Postproduction Services
Dalworth Technologies recognizes that some manufactured parts require additional work
after exiting the press to meet the quality expectations of our customers. To tackle these
issues, we operate our own post-production facility, which helps minimize quality
concerns.
While other companies often outsource their post-production processes, we believe this
can lead to frequent delivery delays and may hinder the ability of manufactured parts to
meet the high standards set by end users.

Page

Network Solutions Professional Services
• Pantone Match- Pantones are the standard language of color, and something any great
manufacturer should understand.

Page
10
 of

Page

Network Solutions Professional Services
• Pantone Match- Pantones are the standard language of color, and something any great
manufacturer should understand.

PPAP – Production Part Approval Process. PPAP defines the approval process for new or
revised parts, or parts produced from new or significantly revised production methods. The
PPAP process consists of 18 elements that may be required for approval of production level
parts. Not all of the elements are required for every submission. There are five generally
accepted PPAP submission levels.
PPAP Levels of Submission
The PPAP submission requirements are normally divided into five classifications or levels,
as follows:
Level 1 – Part Submission Warrant (PSW) only submitted to the customer
Level 2 – PSW with product samples and limited supporting data
Level 3 – PSW with product samples and complete supporting data
Level 4 – PSW and other requirements as defined by the customer
Level 5 – PSW with product samples and complete supporting data available for review at
the supplier’s manufacturing location

Page
15
 of

Network Solutions Professional Services
• Pantone Match- Pantones are the standard language of color, and something any great
manufacturer should understand.

Page
15
 of
20
Network Solutions Professional Services
• Pantone Match- Pantones are the standard language of color, and something any great
manufacturer should understand.

Page
15
 of
20
Network Solutions Professional Services
• Pantone Match- Pantones are the standard language of color, and something any great
manufacturer should understand.

Brand Color Palette

Secondary

Color Rationale

The main color is a deep, professional blue that shows trust and expertise, as seen in successful industry websites. White is used for a clean, modern background, keeping content readable and uncluttered. Bright blue is used for highlights and buttons, helping important areas and calls to action stand out. This avoids red and grey, which were disliked on the old website.

Typography Style

Roboto Heading Style

Primary headings with Roboto font

Clean, elegant Open Sans typography for exceptional readability and modern aesthetic.

Body text: Open Sans

Typography Rationale

Both font choices are clean, modern, and easy to read for all types of customers. Roboto makes headings bold and dependable, while Open Sans provides a clear, professional look for regular text. These fonts help the site look updated and trustworthy, matching the business’s image as a leading manufacturer.

Imagery & Aesthetic Direction
Imagery Style

Photos should show real people working in the plant, employees in branded shirts, and equipment in clean, well-lit settings. Use action shots to demonstrate expertise and teamwork. Stock photos of tools, molds, and plastic parts can fill gaps as needed, but real employee images should come first.

Overall Aesthetic

The site should feel modern, trustworthy, and easy to use. Clear sections, large images, and bold titles help visitors quickly find what they need. The look should impress manufacturers and new entrepreneurs, while still being welcoming and not overly technical.

Theme Style
Professional and industrial, with a touch of warmth from team and facility photos. Use a simple blue and white color scheme, with touches of bright blue for emphasis. Rounded buttons and image selection areas (like the round bubbles the customer likes) can help the site look friendly and interactive.

Sophisticated and professional aesthetic

Layout Approach
Use clear boxes or cards for each section or service, like on the Wise Plastics site that the customer likes. Add movement to these boxes when hovered over and use blue highlights for selected areas. Place a large banner at the top, just like on the Quality Plastics site, to draw attention. Make sure the gallery and contact options are easy to find. The menus and buttons should be simple and obvious.

Mobile-first, adaptive design

Recommended Elements
Bold, easy to read text
Photos showing American manufacturing and local teamwork
Clean, open layouts common in modern Texas and US B2B sites
Elements to Avoid
Small or light gray fonts
Overly busy backgrounds
Leftover red or gray color accents
Crowded layouts or hidden menus
